After 35 years of teaching, I retired in 2003, only to be asked to manage an art gallery on Newbury St. The commute wore me down eventually, though the stimulation of being around beautiful art and fascinating artists was well worth it. I followed that experience by taking woodworking classes at the North Bennett Street School in the North End and now have the privilege of working part-time as an administrative assistant for Mass Audubon Stony Brook in Norfolk, MA. Retirement is full of interesting turns! In this blog I hope to use Stony Brook as a springboard for thought. I want to illustrate the beauty and potential of the Sanctuary with the idea that others might be inspired to visit. Note: The opinions expressed on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent the views of Mass Audubon.
